Bingo is ITC’s newly-launched ready-to-eat snacks that hit the market in March this year. In mid-March, ITC announced its foray into the Rs 2,000-crore (Rs 20 billion) fast-moving branded snack market that has one major competitor - Frito-Lay. After biscuits and pasta, the company is now eyeing this segment, which is growing at 30 per cent every year.

NEW ITC BINGO

The company’s in-house research team of eight people travelled extensively across the country, studying typical home-made snacks such as bhel, khakras, gol gappas and so onThey created 16 different varieties inspired from regular snacks such as potato chips, khakra and pakodas.Â

Chips come in experimental flavours such as bindas masti chaas, chatkila nimbu achar and tandoori paneer tikka. Yet another product launched is “Mad Angles”, which according to the company, is inspired by the Gujarati snack khakra and comes in tomato and chilli flavours.Â

The company has set up a completely new unit to manufacture Bingo, at its existing facility in Haridwar. But that’s not all. To make sure the consumers are informed of their choices, the company has launched not one or two but five, 30-second commercials at the same time. The foodies are surely delighted by the presence of varieties provide by bingo and places the brand in direct competition with this segment product leader pepsi co.Â

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

I wonder what all efforts these Ad-men do to sale anything between a needle to an airplane. The reference here goes to the recent advertisement of Skoda Fabia, where in a life size model of the car was erected…not with wood…no, not even in plastic, no guys it was not paper but flour, cream, sugar and all the yummiest ingredients that go in to make the yummiest cake.

Dairy products can burn fats?

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

 Dairy products can burn fats

Having slim and meaty figures is no sin but it requires a whole lot of attention, a right choice of food that can be developed only after a first-hand experience rather than swayed by the word declared by any third person.

The mindset of most of the people is that the intake of dairy-products would help in cutting down your fats and maintain the required protein-level in your body. But how far is it true?

This debatable issue is still on. When a Web site has included Dairy products in the top 10 foods that help burn fats, msnbc.com has reasons to vary. The list of 10 foods includes:

1. Cayenne Pepper
2. Cinnamon
3. Ginger
4. Citrus Fruits
5. Apples and Berries
6. Soybeans
7. Bananas
8. Essential Fatty Acids
9. Garlic
10. Dairy Products

Msnbc believes Dairy consumption has instead been positively associated with everything from autoimmune disease, to parkinson’s ending in obesity. Even the two Ad campaigns that conveyed the message “Milk your diet. Lose Weight!” on television, Internet and in magazines got banned by the Federal Trade Commission as the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine raised voice against its practicality.
